Can you straightening hair by putting styling gel?

i do put heat protected spray(tresemme heat protected spray), but my hair feel dry after ive done straightening it. so ive seen one of this commercial by putting some styling gel before they straightening it. it looks so straight any silky. and my styling gel firm hold too. so plz tell me guys!! or can i put some frizz-ease glossy mist before i straighte my hair?

1. Gel can help with frizzy hair but no way can you straiten it with gel alone. Now a leave-in conditioner helps...de-frizzes and when you do straiten it (As the women in my life like to do to mine for fun) it's super shiny and strait.
2. No way, its just like straightning sopping wet hair!
3. No it will just make your head feel Hard/Sticky and Gross If you put too much gel on your hair you get dandruff.
4. when your halfway done blow-drying your hair distribute about a dime size amount of shine syrum throughout your hair and finish blow-drying. it makes it shiny, soft, helps with frizzies, and protects it from your straightener :) perfect!
