how do i scrunch hair with styling gel?

Do i just put the styling gel in it and scrunch it? ..and can i wash my hair after or will that ruin it?

1. you scrunch ur hair using mousse.
2. when i want curl, i add styling get to my hair and then spray it with Aussie Scrunch Spray. I tip my head upside down and squeeze my hair as i dry it. when it is almost dry, continue scrunching with your dryer with your head upright. i have gotten great results.
3. What works for me is when it is wet, do a slight towel dry and apply the gel. Then I scrunch it either with my head flipped over or not. Sometimes I blowdry sometimes I let it airdry, the two are completely different looks. If I let airdry its going to have a gel look to it. Try both and see which is better for you.
4. ahhh why would u wash ur hair after that will erase the gel.. if u want that scruched wet hair look do it after u wash ur hair if u want that beachy look scruch it when its dry or use mouse it works better i think
5. gel then scrunch.... you dont want to have to do the extra work of having to work the gel into the scrunchies.. the secret is..( dont let the gel dry before you scrunch it) so gell. scrunch. and blow dry for best and tight results.... and dont you dare wash it! water loosens your hair, so unless you wanna walk around with gell running down your forehead... no washie washie.. till you are finished with that look
6. Scrunch after putting in gel w/blow dryer full heat with your head upside down for max volume. Yes, washing it will wash the curl out

8. eeeeeek!! no good lord dont use styling gel--- blah on that--- splurge a little on how u look--- go an buy aussie sprunch spray--- or even better--- towel dry ur hair-- an then use aussie freeze hair spray--- an sprunch it up-- since ur hair is wet it will have this wet curl look an stay in place all day long--- :D but please for the love of god an all females in the world-- dont use gel-- gel is for men lol
9. Wet your hair, then put the gel in, and scrunch!!!
10. I scrunch my hair....i use hair spray though. But when you use the blowdryer...put a diffuser on it. It evens out the heat.
11. What is up with all these people wanting to "scrunch" their hair with gel? Didn't that whole look go out in about 1993? Please, no. Work on achieving soft, manageable curls by nourishing your hair. Nobody's hair should feel crunchy.
