How can I place my gels to modify my subjects background color?
I currently got a few gels, but I'm confused as how to put it on the integrated flash, so it only affects the background and not the actual subject. Any suggestions?

- you place them on the flash head. The layers of gels depends on the effect you want. To affect only the background make sure the light does not hit the subject. This is better achieved with two lights. One just for the background and one for the subject.
- Sure, to begin with you must pick any diverse subjects
- You have to use a separate flash with the gel for the background. One flash will also affect the subject more than the background because of light fall off. The only way I know of to do it with one flash is to take a separate photo of the background, and combine them in a photo editor.
- put the flash with the gel on it behind the subject and fire it at the background, take an exposure reading at the BG, then match the exposure with another flash or two on your subject
