Do cyclists recommend taking fat burners as opposed to energy gels?
I'm a casual cyclist, but I'm starting to commute to work more often. I currently use energy gels, but they don't seem to have the effect I'm looking for. I get exhausted after 20 minutes on the bike. A friend recommended a fat burner. Are fat burners better than energy gels? Why or why not?

- no,fat burners are meant for weightlifters, fighters and so on.as for energy gels with caffeine is not meant for training, but for racing because caffeine dont give power just let u use more of our power and after u get very exhausted.the best energy gels for training is with mineral vitamins.
- Once you ride more often you most likely won't be as tired you need to work you're self up to it and please do not take fat burners. Try 5 hour energy it's more for awareness (But helps) rather then 10 or so minuets of a sugar high like from rockstar, monster ect.. lol. But like i said above you probably need to just need to work you're self up to it or eating something high in protein before you leave will probably help hope this helps
- You don't need energy gels for a 20 minute ride, just a good diet. If you don't have time for breakfast before your morning commute, make sure to eat immediately after your morning ride to replentish your energy stores. You may be trying to go too fast too soon. Pace yourself so as to take an extra 5 minutes and you will arrive in better shape. As your fitness improves, you will start going faster without feeling as if you are working harder.
- you;re not exhausted because of nutrition you are either out of shape, or working too hard 20 minutes your ride is what about 3 to 4 miles? that;s 140 calories at best wle
- You are pedaling too hard. You want to spin at 70-90 rpm's and use a gear that is easy to pedal. That will keep your legs from wearing out. Don't worry about how fast you are going, you will get faster as you get stronger. You want a pace that you feel you can do all day long. You can pick up the pace the last part of your commute, it will help you get stronger.
