what is the best hair gel/wax to spike thick 2inch long hair with a strong hold for a day?

I am having my hair cut short and want to have it spiked but it is thick and dont know which hair gel would hold it the best. What would you recommend?

1. try Bed Head! it works really good
2. i suggest a good wax such as vo5 i cnt remember which one but a vo5 are usualy really good also wax is water proof for them rainydays hope i have helped=]

4. I would try the Redken Concrete 22 cement paste. That will really glue your hair up. And if you want even more hold, use the Redken 25 hairspray.
