What are the best hair curling products?

My hair is thick and has a natural curl, but needs help staying curly during the day. I have tried many different products but have not found the perfect one. Some products I use, I need to use a lot just to hold my hair but then my hair is very hard. Some products don’t stay in long enough and my hair becomes flat. I would like to know what hair product combination someone else uses for their curly hair.
