which hair products work better giovanni or wen?

I've been using Giovanni hair care products for about 6 months at first it worked great in my hair , now it's brittle and dry again. I've been thinking about either doing biweekly hair conditioning treatments, getting a giovanni leave in conditioner or just switching to wen. What do you think? Have you ever tried wen hair care products. Also is there a cheaper brand that you've tried for your hair that works good. I'm african american and have coarse hair.

1. I find that any sulfate free shampoo works well on African American hair as sulfates actually damage our hair causing breakage, dryness and strip the hair of oils that we already lack. I use Organix brand shampoo and conditioner (although I bought just a normal conditioner like Suave or VO5 to save more money as they are the same thing). My niece is natural with 4a/4b armpit length hair and it works very well on her hair, it leaves it so soft, moisturized, clean and smells very good. I love the way it makes her hair and she tends to have very dry, thick natural hair.
