what is a really good hair gel product for men with thick hair?

i like styling my hair, but its thick, short, and wavy. i have to use a lot of hair gel for my hair to stick. i hate the way my hair looks when its stiff with buckets of gel. i was wondering if anyone knew some really good hair gel products that are intended for thick hair and are affordable.
